- 10,500 people live in this area
- 105 people are infected with HCV
- 78 of them are unaware this disease may be slowly destroying their liver
- 42 have no idea how they were infected
- 21 people will clear the virus on their own
- 21 to 53 people will develop cirrhosis
- 3 to 21 people will either require a liver transplant or die of liver failure from cirrhosis or cancer.
- 80 people may experience anywhere from mild to severe symptoms that will frequently be blamed on aging or other health concerns.
