Uncle Joe

By: Terry Power

Reflecting on my ancestors,

That I respect and know

One that I remember well

Is my Uncle Joe.

He lived life to the fullest;

A humble life indeed.

His earthly gain was not a goal,

For things he did not  need.

The things that brought him pleasure

Were partying and song,

Rough company and the gift of “gab”

That’s how he got along.

He went through life unscarred by change,

As people surely know.

He’s in our hearts and memories,

The man called Uncle Joe.
