Labrador
The Big Land
is
one of the last unspoiled wilderness areas left to be
explored. Labrador has an area of 294,330 square kilometers
and a Population of only 32,000 people. It is the home of the
largest free roaming caribou herd in the world,with
a population of over 700,000 animals. These animals migrate
into the Labrador West area during the winter to feed after
traveling thousands of miles from Northern Labrador over into
ungava bay area of Quebec and back into Labrador again They
winter here until early may when they head to the calving
grounds in Northern Labrador. This is an excellent opportunity
for hunting or for taking pictures. Wolves are often sighted
during the day time and on clear nights it is common to hear
the sound of wolves howling. Many record caribou has come from
the Quebec Labrador caribou and these animals has the largest
rack per body weight of any antlered animal. Labrador
