Labrador The Big Land is one of the last unspoiled wilderness areas left to be explored. Labrador has an area of 294,330 square kilometers and a Population of only 32,000 people. It is the home of the largest free roaming caribou herd in the world, with a population of over 700,000 animals. These animals migrate into the Labrador West area during the winter to feed after traveling thousands of miles from Northern Labrador over into ungava bay area of Quebec and back into Labrador again They winter here until early may when they head to the calving grounds in Northern Labrador. This is an excellent opportunity for hunting or for taking pictures. Wolves are often sighted during the day time and on clear nights it is common to hear the sound of wolves howling. Many record caribou has come from the Quebec Labrador caribou and these animals has the largest rack per body weight of any antlered animal. Labrador Adventures and outfitting have guides that will do their utmost to see that your hunt is successful.
